A Beginner’s Guide to Squarespace Amazon Blocks

A Squarespace Amazon block can be used to link directly to an Amazon product without needing additional code or third party programs.

With the Squarespace Amazon block, you can choose a product, and visitors can click right through to Amazon. There is no need for any additional code or third-party tools.

Here are a few things to keep in mind:

  • Amazon Associates: You can add your ID to earn credit if someone buys after clicking through your block.

  • Premium Feature: Amazon blocks are a perk for Business, Commerce, Professional, and Premium plans.

  • US Only (for now): Currently, Amazon blocks only work on US Squarespace sites featuring products from Amazon.com.

  • No International Support (yet): You can't show items from other Amazon sites like amazon.co.uk yet. If you try on a non-US site, you'll see an error message.

  • One at a time: You can add only one item to the Amazon block, but you can add multiple Amazon blocks to a single page.

How to add an Amazon product link to Squarespace

  1. Select edit on the top left-hand side of your website preview.

  2. Click the add block option on a page section, or the plus sign inside classic editor.*

  3. Select the Amazon option form the list of content blocks

  4. You can search for an item using the Find A Product field, but it’s much easier to simply enter the item's URL or Amazon Standard Identification Number (ASIN) .

  5. Chose what you want to display in the block: product images, product title, author, and of course, the oh so important Buy Button.

  6. Optional: change the alignment of the content displayed inside your Amazon product block to be aligned to left, right, or center.

Here is an example of an Amazon Product Block

This is an example; Insidethesquare.co is not affiliated with this product, creators, or seller in anyway.

You can see in this example that the product image is displayed first, followed by the author, which is the Amazon store name.

Underneath that is the button that will take people directly to this amazon product in a new browser tab.

What you can customize about the Amazon block using Squarespace

Unfortunately, there are not a lot of options to edit the style of an Amazon block in Squarespace.

The text is designed to match the paragraph font in your Squarespace site.

The button will match the primary button style you have created in your site style menu.

The content is controlled by the product listing data in Amazon and can not be edited using the Squarespace interface.
